Configure Policies

In this section you will enable a Policy to create Stories and create a Policy to assign a Runbook to a Story.

CP4AIOPS provides two preset/of the box story creation policies. For story creation to occur, you must enable one of these default policies, or create your own custom story creation policy. These policies are disabled by default.

    1. In the CP4AIOPS β€œHamburger” Menu select Operate/Automations

    2. Select tab Policies

    3. Click on the Tag dropdown

    4. Select Stories and Runbooks

    5. Turn on Policy Default story creation policy for all alerts

πŸš€ TASK: Create Runbook Assignment policy

For this training, you want to have a runbook take action when you receive alerts stating that the MySQL database is not reachable. Create a policy to assign this runbook every time we get alerts related to a problem with the MySQL database.

    1. Click on Create Policy

    2. Click on Assign a runbook to alerts

    3. Name it RobotShop Mitigate MySQL Problem

    4. Scroll down to Condition sets

    5. Click Add Condition

    6. Select Alert Property

    7. Click in field Property

    8. Type name

    9. Select resource / name

    10. Under Operator select contains

    11. Click in field Value

    12. Type mysql

    13. Select String: mysql

    14. Check runbook RobotShop Mitigate MySQL Problem

    15. Check Use default parameter value

    16. Click Create Policy

    17. Your list of Policies should now look like this
